One of the most effective methods to expand your business and attain the results you desire is by helping others to achieve their goals. Seriously. This is the way it works.
Helping someone else will help you as well. One of the things that I am the proudest of when I look back at the five years of laborious work and huge accomplishments in my own company is the fact that I’ve always been focused on helping others obtain what they need and want as well. One way I achieve this is to increase my presence wherever I travel.
In the last week of the month, I’ll be traveling to South Africa as part of a mentoring program for women working in the business sector in Zimbabwe. This will be my second time to meet with women in business and very meaningful to me. as well as my beliefs and the vision of my business. This is why I do what I do.
AND SO WHAT, YOU ASK?
So, if I’m planning to travel across the globe to aid women, I’d like to make sure that I am using my energy, time, and experience to the maximum! Here’s how I go about it:
TIP #1: LET PEOPLE KNOW YOUR PLANS.
Sandy Salle, President, and founder of Hills of Africa Travel are from Zimbabwe. She is also part of my mastermind group, are a coworker and close friend. She coordinates the mentorship trip to Zimbabwe every year. I just reached out to Sandy and asked her if she had contacts in Zimbabwe I had to be aware of – so that I could organize additional events for speaking engagements, networking, and meetings. Sandy was awestruck (and delighted) and instantly began sending out introduction messages to link me to various business and social groups across the region where I was likely to be. The first step. Make sure that people know.
TIP #2: GET CLEAR ON YOUR INTENTIONS AND GOALS
I am able to clearly define the reason I needed these introductions, and I know what I’d do if I met those business contacts. It is crucial that you understand your “why” to ensure that, when you meet with new people it is simple to show them how to help them understand the vision and reason behind what you wish to achieve. My main focus and energy are to spread the word about my experience and story with other entrepreneurs to who I otherwise would not have the opportunity to connect. If I’m going to spend the time and money required to reach that point around the globe I’ve got to work on teaching my methods of success to the most people I can!
TIP #3: DO THE FOLLOW-UP
Sandy graciously reached out, expanding her name, and introduced me to her important contacts. I greatly appreciated it and it was my turn to move things to the next stage. I took all the necessary following up, and my vision is now a reality and it’s so exciting due to the timing. I’ll actually be there in Johannesburg this International Woman’s Day – AND I’ve been asked to join a Global Mentoring Walk. Jackpot! I’ll be joining the women in their walk and speaking with them afterward – and have created a coach sponsorship opportunity for one young lady to partner with me over the next few years to help bring her own business goals to life. When I was putting together these contacts, I inquired how I can assist those individuals in their personal goals, visions, dreams, and goals. I offered my services and the situation has grown exponentially and I am now surrounded by occasions to speak (along with press and media coverage) which is a win-win-win.
HELP SOMEONE ELSE WITH THEIR DREAMS!
It’s as easy as that! I recall last year when I traveled to Rome along with a colleague. I followed exactly the identical plan, and boom! While in Rome it was the perfect place to develop some amazing networking opportunities as well as new connections. The bottom line is that entrepreneurs share a commonality that is more than we are different. It’s easy to share our expertise to help someone else’s dreams and hopes, and at the end of the day, we all win.
SO, NO MATTER WHAT YOUR PLANS ARE TO GROW YOUR BUSINESS – REACH OUT TO HELP SOMEONE ELSE AND WATCH THE ABUNDANCE BEGIN TO HAPPEN FOR EVERYONE.
What’s something you can accomplish this week in order to help someone else achieve their objectives?
